A resounding success of ASICS Penang Bridge International Marathon (APBIM) 2015

This year, we are proud to announce APBIM 2015 has reached 28,000 runners and we sincerely thanked all participants for choosing our marathon. It wouldn’t be a success without your participation. Moreover, the committee would also like to thanked all sponsors and government agencies for supporting our running event. Some of your organization and agencies has been with us for many years since its inception and for that we truly appreciate your support.

Running events has always been popular in Asia-Pacific, but it is without a doubt, a rapidly growing industry in South East Asia. There are many different opportunities and exciting challenges this region for both runners and race directors alike; from arduous temperature, daunting terrains, and an overall exotic running experience.

Penang; a small island located on the North West coast of Peninsular Malaysia is the 2nd biggest city and home to the popular Penang Bridge International Marathon (PBIM). The run is organized by Penang State Tourism Development office and fully supported by the State Government of Penang.

The Penang Bridge International Marathon (PBIM) has been an anticipated run in Malaysia since its inception in 1986. The run is held annually on the Penang Bridge, the iconic bridge that connects the Malaysian Peninsular to the island of Penang. It is well known for its fun, carnival-like atmosphere, showcasing the colors, sights and taste of Penang.

Penang's most anticipated sporting event, the ASICSPenang Bridge International Marathon (2015) will be back again on 20 November 2016 at the Penang Bridge (old bridge). We look forward to have the runners back next year.

See you on 20 November 2016.
