The exciting and anticipated Allianz Penang Bridge International Marathon is happening in 5 more days! Penang is indeed a unique and memorable Marathon event in the world as one of the few such events on a bridge!

This year I am delighted to announce that the Allianz Penang Bridge International Marathon will be attempting to break the Malaysian Book of Records for the Largest Bridge Run in Malaysia!

The last record was held also by Penang Bridge International Marathon with 21,399 participants in the run in 2007. This year, we have over 26,500 registered participants and we are expecting more. Over 1,500 are from other countries such as Singapore, Indonesia, Thailand, Japan and United Kingdom (Total 67 countries)

The marathon this year is also extremely fortunate to have Allianz, the largest insurance company in the world as our title sponsor. Allianz is also well known for supporting international sports events including Golf, Paralympics, Football and the Formula 1.

Not to mention the main sponsor, DIGI, Malaysia’s most popular and funky telecommunications company. Digi provides a comprehensive range of affordable, convenient and easy to use wireless services to simplify and enrich the lives of its customers.

Also, the official watch for the Allianz Penang Bridge International Marathon is TITAN Watches, the largest watch manufacturer in India and the 5th largest in the world! Titan brand watches are precise, .elegant and durable. 4 types of special custom made watches, engraved with the Penang Marathon logo will be available on the day of the race

This is the fourth time the marathon has been organised by the Penang State Tourism

Development and Cultural Executive Committee. And each year, you can witness many new improvements. All this is through the efforts of Penang State EXCO member for Tourism YB Danny Law and his team who have organised the Marathon event professionally making it better and more comfortable not just for the runners but also spectutas

Since the Allianz Penang Bridge International Marathon will soon be crowned as The Largest Bridge Run in Malaysia, I hope we can use this title to further improve and elevate Penang Bridge International Marathon as one of the top marathon event in the world.

Thank you.
