We would like to thank all of our sponsors and all the government agencies for their tremendous support and for playing a big part in the formation of this prestigious race. And to all participants, we thank you for taking part in this event. Enclosed is a list of pointers which we would like to bring your attention to: Race day: 16th November 2008 Closing Date of registration: 31st October 2008 Last day of payment: 31st October 2008. Please make sure your payment is made to us before the last day of registration. Any unpaid registration will not be recognized. Payment information: 1) Off line payment: Please bank-in into our Malayan Banking Account no. 557054 501788. Make your cheque payable to "Penang Bridge International Marathon" 2) Online payment: all credit card transactions will take place within 7 working days of your registration. Recommended registration and payment mode: Please recommend your friends to register online. Pay via Master or Visa. Our online registration form is secured by 128bits GeoTrust SSL Digital Certificate. Collection of t-shirt, running bib & goodies: Date: 13th ~ 15th November 2008 Time: 10am ~ 7pm Location: Queensbay Mall. Unit 1F-08. North Zone. Next to Malayan Banking Bhd. Note: Please bring along our official receipt (online payment confirmation, PBIM's Official receipt or Switch's PBIM receipt) and your MyKard / Passport to double confirm all your informations in our system are correctly keyed-in. Collection of t-shirt, running bibs & goodies on behalf: If you are sending your friends to pick up the goodies for you, please make sure they come with our official receipt. . We will prepare in advance for your convenience. Starting Times for each categories: Full Marathon - 3.00 am Men & Women Half Marathon - 4.30am Men & 5.00am Women Quarter Marathon - 5.30am Boys & Girls Fun Run - 6.00am All ages
Reporting time: All runners are to be at the starting point 1 hour before the start times.
Gathering areas for each categories: Full Marathon and Half Marathon - gather in front of Queensbay Mall Quarter Marathon and Fun Run - gather at Pulau Jerejak Jetty. Slow runners: Slow runners are to run on the left lane of the course. We will have notices along the highway to remind you of keeping to the left and not blocking the competitive runners. Traffic information: 1) Penang Bridge will be closed from 2am ~ 10am on 16th November 2008. 2) All roads lead to Queensbay and Batu Maung will be closed at 2am. 3) Road in front of Queensbay mall main entrance will be closed for traffic from 2am to 9am 4) Re-opening: Road from Bukit Jambul roundabout and FTZ to Queensbay will be open for traffic at 4.30am
Parking information: Queensbay's multi-level car park and parking lot no. 9 & 10 (next to Coffee Bean) will be open for parking. Our venue will be able to accommodate a total of 3,500 cars. 1) Full and Half marathon runners are advised to park inside Queensbay multi-level car park before the road closure at 2.00am. 2) Quarter marathon and Fun runners are advised to come to Queensbay via FTZ zone and Bukit Jambul after 4.30am. Surau information: 2 tents will be set up for prayer purposes. 1 at the Half/Full marathon gathering location, and 1 at the Quarter marathon and Fun run gathering area. The surau at the toll plaza of Penang Bridge will be made available. Sweeper Busses: Our busses will be going into the Penang Bridge at 9am to pick up the remaining runners. Once again, we would like to express our appreciation to all who has played a role in organizing this event.
